Christ Or Hitler? Blog Tour

Christ Or Hitler? Blog Tour

This week we have a number of bloggers participating in a book review blog tour for Christ or Hitler?: Stories From My Life and Times by Pastor Wilhelm Busch. Excerpts from their reviews follow below:

“I highly recommend ‘Christ or Hitler?’. The Christian will find it inspiring and faith-strengthening. The non-Christian may see in it a real picture of the Savior and the power of God, two truths that are often lost in the materialistic, feel-good, happy-clappy, it’s-all-about-you philosophy that pervades too many churches today.”

“This book, though not as polished a publication, is more valuable than a leather-bound reference book. It is the story of a real pastor. Read it and learn from it.”
Reviewer: Doug Hibbard (doughibbard.com)
Rating: 5 Stars

“Fighting for Christianity in Hitler’s Germany is beyond something I can comprehend. I was honored to read the account of this man’s life.”

“This is one of the few books in my life, and there are a great many, that was impossible for me to put down until I’d read the entire book… A hatful of kudos to not only Christian Puritz for the writing of this book, but also to Pastor Wilhelm Busch for having lived the life he did.”
Reviewer: Terry Keiner (fellowshipinthescriptures.com)

“Most people might know about Bonhoeffer, a prominent leader of the Confessional Church, but I wonder about what the average pastor resisting the Nazi’s infiltration of the church was like.  This book is a wonderful window into one such pastor whose ministry to youths clashed with the Nazis vision for young people to be under the control of the Hitler Youth with their ideology… I recommend this autobiography for the encouragement of Christian souls.”

“I thought the translation was excellent… It would provide some insights into life in Nazi Germany for anyone with an interest in this area.”
Reviewer: Mandy Johnson (mandybakerjohnson.com)

“Wilhelm Busch (1897-1966) was a German youth pastor ministering during the rise and fall of Nazism, and this book recounts his life experiences as a Christian and pastor in these turbulent times… Not only is this era of history exceedingly important for this next generation to learn about, but many of the book’s narratives describe turning points in the lives of the young people to whom Busch ministered.”

About the Book:
The life of Wilhelm Busch progressed form a Christian home, through conversion amidst the horrors of the First World War, to student life against the background of the crushing inflation of the Weimar Republic period. Then followed the Nazi period, times of suffering lived out against the background of falling bombs. This is Wilhelm Busch’s story in his own words, but more than that it is a dramatic record of the power and faithful love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
